About SmartWish
SmartWish is a free online image resizer and compressor built for one simple reason: filling online forms should not be difficult. Whether you need a passport size photo at exactly 413 × 531 pixels, a signature under 20KB, or a picture cut down to fit a 50KB upload limit, the tool handles it in a few clicks.
What the Tool Does
- Resize images by pixels, inches, centimetres or millimetres, with DPI control.

Everything Runs in Your Browser
This is the part we care about most. SmartWish does not have an upload server for your images. When you select a photo, it is read directly by your own browser and processed using the HTML5 Canvas API on your device.
Your file is never transmitted to us, never stored anywhere, and never seen by anyone else. Close the tab and nothing remains. This matters because the documents people resize are often personal: identity photos, signatures, certificates and application forms.
Why We Built It
Most people filling a government exam form or a visa application run into the same wall: the portal demands a photo of an exact size in an exact format, and the phone camera produces something ten times larger. The usual options are a paid app, a cyber cafe, or a website that uploads your identity photo to an unknown server.
We wanted a fourth option that is free, immediate, and private. SmartWish was built to be that option, and it stays free to use with no signup, no watermarks and no daily limits.

Accuracy and Limitations
We aim to be honest about what the tool can and cannot do. Resizing cannot add detail that was never captured, and a very small file size target will always cost some clarity at large dimensions. Our guides explain these trade-offs rather than hiding them.
The dimensions and file size limits mentioned across this site are common values, not official rules. Requirements are set by each authority and change over time, so please always confirm the specification printed on the form you are filling.
How the Site Is Funded
SmartWish is free to use. In the future the site may display advertising to cover hosting and development costs. Advertising will never involve sharing your images, because your images are never uploaded in the first place. Details of any cookies used are described in our Privacy Policy.
